The body is at the mortuary where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. George II. Reid WALHALLA George Harrison Reid, 81, of Rt. 1, Walhalla, died at 8:05 a.m.

Tuesday at an Oconee County hospital after eight weeks of illness. He was a native of Oconee County, son of the late Daniel and Martha Eaton Reid. He owned and operated Reid's Grocery Store and served as trustee of Zion School District 25 years. He was a school bus driver in this area 17 years and served two terms as Oconee County commissioner for Wage-ner Township. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are four sons, John C. (Bob) and Louie Reid of Walhalla, Raymond Reid of Miami, and Loyd Reid of Fort Worth, a daughter, Mrs. Eunice Kelley of Walhalla; 10 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Rev.

C. G. Wyatt and Rev. Martin Haulbrook. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jim, John, Marvin, Fred, Luke and Billy Reid. The body is at the home on Coffee Road. Davenport Funeral Home is in charge. Mrs. Reeves EASLEY Mrs.

Nellie Pauline Durham Reeves, 38, of the Smith's Grove community, Rt. 1, Easley, died at a Greenville hospital Tuesday at 1:25 p. m. after five years of illness. She was a native of Pickens County, daughter of Courtney M.

and Nell Bagwell Durham of Easley. She was a graduate of Liberty High School and a member of Smith's Grove Baptist Church. Surviving also are her husband, Lenhardt Reeves; two daughters, Shirley and Lynn Reeves of the home; a son, Mike Reeves of the home; and a brother, Fred Durham of We-tumpka, Ala. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p. m.

at Smith's Grove Baptist Church by Rev. James Hampton and Rev. Robert Robinson. Burial Henry, Laudie and Larry Mc-i Call, Rayford Sammons, Till-1 man Ramey and Herman Brock. The body is at Davenport Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

Wed- nesday. Jay L. Norris CENTRAL Jay Luther Norris, 75, of 407 Eaton died Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. after a sudden illness. He was a native of Pickens County, son of the late James and Sallie NaUey Norris.

He was a retired textile worker and lived in Central 45 yars. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mollie Boyles Norris; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Maw of Central; four sons, Merrell and Furman Norris of Central.

Henry Norris of Clinton and Charles Norris of Pendleton; two sisters, Mrs. Delia Rice of Odessa, and Mrs. Sadie Landers of Simpsonville; two brothers, Robert Norris of Tampa, and Charles Norris of Easley; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildrn. Funeral services will be con ducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Second Wesleyan Methodist Church by Rev.

after several months of declining health. He was born in Anderson county, son of the late George and Lula Collins Kimbrell. He lived most of his life in Greenville. Before moving to his present address he lived on the Piedmont highway. He was a member of Bethesda Methodist church and during World War II served in the U.S.

Army. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Louise Hamby Kimbrell; three daughters, Mrs. Jean Story, Mrs. Barbara Cole and Mrs.

Peggy Forrester of Greenville; two sons, Gerald Kimbrell of Greenville and Larry Kimbrell of North Augusta; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph Spake of Grover, N. Mrs. Frank Rippy and Mis. David Burton of' Kings Mountain, N.

m. Wednesday. Mrs. Effie Knox PACOLET MILLS Mrs. Effie Knox, 67, of 47 Green died at 4 a.m.

Tuesday at a Spartanburg hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Melvin and Annie Motts Knox. She was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church and was a retired textile worker. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Gibson of Pacolet; a son, James Knox of Pacolet Mills; two brothers, Horace Knox of Taylorsville, N.C, and George Knox of Pacolet Mills; six grandchildren and a greatgrandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. James Henson, Rev. H. C.

Cash and Rev. Clyde Peterson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gibson, on Quarter Round Road, Pacolet, at 11 a.m.

Wednesday. W. A. Meredith WALHALLA William Albert Meredith, 81, of the Cone-ross community, Rt. 1, Walhalla, died at 8 a.m.

Tuesday at a Pickens rest home after three years of declining health. He was a native of Oconee County, son of the late George and Louisa Adair Meredith. He was a farmer and was employed at Oconee County Rock Quarry. He was a member of Coneross Baptist Church where he had a perfect attendance record of 33 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.

Roxie Anna McDonald Meredith; two sons, J. G. Meredith of Walhalla and J. A. Meredith of Campobello; three daughters, Mrs.

Nettie Busche and Mrs. Wilma Mason of Seneca and Mrs. Cecile Cleveland of Hartwell, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Coneross Baptist Church by Rev.

Lucille Coleman Burns, 66, of 109 Waccamaw wife of David E. Burns, died yesterday at a local hospital after two weeks of illness. She was born in upper Greenville County, a daughter of Mrs. Laura Roper Coleman and the late Riley Jones Coleman. She lived on Waccamaw Avenue for the past 37 years.

She was a member of Bethuel Baptist Church. Surviving also are two sons, Leland E. Burns of Anderson and Harold C. Burns of Toccoa, four sisters, Miss Selma Coleman and Mrs. Josie Mc-Caslan of Greenville, Mrs.

Walter Watzl of Mauldin and Mrs. Elizabeth Surguy of Washington, D. and four grandchil dren. Funeral services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary by Rev.

G.II.Whatley GREENWOOD Mrs. Beulah T. Whatley, 81, of 1020 Highside died Tuesday afternoon at a local hospital after several weeks of illness. She was a native of Anderson County, daughter of the late John A. and Emma Snelgrove Welch.

She was a member of Main Street Methodist Church. Her first husband was the late Warren Lenox Thompson. Her second husband was the late C. H. Whatley.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. E. B. (Helen) Bryan of Greenwood, Mrs. C.

W. (Emma) Martin of Gainesville, and Mrs. T. E. (Lila Elizabeth) Griffin of Spartanburg; three i sons, Warren Lenox Thompson of Bellflower, John W.

and Lee W. of Greenwood; a brother, Claude D. Welch of Greenwood; a sister, Miss Lila Welch of Green wood; 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Blyth Funeral Home by Dr.

He was born in Transylvania County, N. a son of the late P. B. and Mahala Heath Bishop. He lived most of his life in Greenville County and was a retired carpenter.

For a number of years he was a foreman with Grady Hodgens, building contractors. He was a member of Morgan Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lula Pace Bishop; three daughters, Mrs. O.
