The win sends coach Chico Bolin's club into the Upperstate finals against Winnsboro next week, the latter also with an 11-0 mark. Travelers Rest was alert to every opportunity, cashing in on three Abbeville fumbles and a pair of interceptions. A fourth-down penalty against Abbeville gave travelers Rest an opportunity to keep a first- quarter drive going and enabled quarterback Mike Phillips to go in from the one or the first touchdown.

Danny Wood ran the extra point. Along the way, Phillips passed to Tony Anderson for 26 and James Robertson had a run of 23 yards. With time running out in the first period, Robertson scored from four yards out to cap a 45-yard march. Wood contributed a run of 16 yards in the drive. Alexander made his season total 2,390 yards and his scores made 29 touchdowns this year. Crescent ended with a 9-1-1 record finest in the history of the school since consolidation in 1956. As Alexander's No. 11 was retired, Coach Dick Kight called Bob the finest high school halfback he had seen. Several college scouts watched the game.

Fullback William Bradberry BARNWELL Wade Hamp ton of Hampton brought Strom Thurmond's 10 -game winning string to a jarring and final halt here Friday night as the Red Devils won a Class-A Low-state playoff game, 7-0. Wade Hampton, with a 7-3 record, meets the winner of the Lower Richland Lake View playoff for the Lowstate Class- A title next week. The Red Devils scored in. the third quarter when they took the second half kickoff and marched 76 yards. A nine-yard pass from Donald Brant to Sammy Hazle clinched the drive and Red Peeples conver sion was enough to give the TO RALLY and goal, David James crashed over tor tne go-anead touchdown.

Daniel Enjoys 37-7 Triumph At Walhalla WALHALLA Robert Griffin scored two touchdowns and David Lee passed for two more as Daniel defeated Walhalla. 37-7, Friday night to even its record at 5-5. Butch Gentry booted four con versions and sparked a 17-point second-quarter uprising with a i9-yara tieia goal. Griffin scored in the first period on a two-yard plunge after a 75-yard march. Lee's 20-yard pass io nusty Kingman was the big gainer in the march.

Walhalla bounced back to knot the score on a 70-vard Dass from Hershel Nichols to Marsh all Loudermilk and Louder- milk's conversion. Gentry opened the second period with his field goal and then Lee took to the air. He hit Rob Mosley with two 15-yard passes and then ended the 50-yard drive with a seven-yard touchdown toss to Mosley. Allen Crenshaw staked the Lions to a 24-7 halftime lead when he galloped 16 yards with an intercepted pass. Griffin returned a punt 55 yards in the third period and Lee passed to Kingman for a 20-yard touchdown in the final quarter after Mosley had inter cepted a pass.

Huskey kicked the point. On the second play after the kickoff, Wayne Phillips intercepted a pass on the Greenwood 28. Rice moved the ball from the 19, Huskey had a 15-yard run, and Rice carried to the two. Wyatt scored from the one. Huskey again made the point.

The loss left Greenwood at 6-3-1 with Anderson yet to play. Ware Shoals Romps Past Saluda, 45-6 WARE SHOALS The Ware Shoals Hornets humbled the winless Saluda Tigers, 45-6, here Friday night. The Hornets began to buzz when Bubba Boland ran 24 yards to score and end a 74 yard drive. The score was 6-6 going into the second, period. Roger Bagwell ran 40 yards with a recovered fumble, and Donnie Culbertson took a pass from Ernie Crawford for a 51-yard touchdown play to make it 18-6 before halftime.

Boland ran 28 yards for a third period score and Tommy Weeks scored from the one. In the last quarter the scoring was on a 27-yard pass from Weeks to Crawford, and a two -yard pass from Weeks to Walter Cain. Boland ran two extra points and Ronnie Griffith ran one. Newberry Has 20-6 Victory YORK The Newberry Bulldogs closed out their 1967 season here Friday night with a 20-6 victory over winless York. The Bulldogs (5-6) tallied twice in the second quarter on a one-yard run by halfback Bo Frasher and a two-yard jaunt by Gene Shumpert. York's Green Dragons (0-10-1) scored their lone six-pointer in Rebels their first loss in 10 games. Thurmond moved the ball well, rolling up 182 yards rush ing.

The Rebels drove to the Devil's four in the first period but bad to give the ball up on downs. They moved to the Wade Hampton 20 in the third quarter but an interceptor pass Killed tnat drive. The Rams jumped in front in the first period when Leonard Jordan returned an intercepted pass 31 yards for a touchdown. The conversion was blocked. Peeples added the conversion. Barry Hammond put Hillcrest back ahead in the third period on a four-yard run but the Bob cats got the help of 45 yards in penalties to move to the Hillcrest three. On fourth down Rock Hill Is 22-6 Winner ROCK HILL The Rock Hill Bearcats picked up their eighth Triple A Conference triumph of the season here Friday night with a 22-6 win over Dreher of Columbia. Bearcat tailback Ray Wilson, who went over the rushing mark, put Rock Hill on the scoreboard in the second period as he ran two yards. Kirk Canty booted the PAT.

Rock Hill broke loose for 15 points in the final Wilson scampered 30 yards and Canty added the PAT to boost the Bearcat lead and fullback Danny Shaw got into the scoring act as he bulled over from four yards out. Rock Hill got its last two points with 6:32 remaining as Ricky Brown chased Blue Devil quarterback David Young into the Dreher end zone and tack led him for a safety.
