Recently my husband seems to be indifferent, seldom discussing things with me or complimenting me. He is very successful in business and I feel that he is ashamed of me in public and bored with me. What can I do? A. T. The Bible tells us the wife is to adapt herself to her husband.

This means, among other things, that she should keep step with him. It is more than the initial adjustment of the newlyweds, it is a continual adapting of herself to his interests, his experiences, his progress. Spruce up. If all you can discuss are home problems, no wonder he is bored with you. If you are slovenly, out of date and ill at ease, no wonder he is ashamed of you.

Remember you don't have to be beautiful in order to be lovely, and you don't have to be brilliant in order to be a good listener. Once I found these words written on the flyleaf of an old book: "To my wife who is still my sweetheart." The Lord will help you to become just that.
