"Sarge" Smith, 62, of Hillside community, Rt. 1, Fountain Inn, who died Wednesday, will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at Hillside Baptist Church by the Rev.

Theron R. Jones, the Rev. J. W. Gaines and the Rev.

Don Hewell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at the home and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Friday. Cannon Funeral Home is in charge.

Dorothy Wright Susewit, 39, of Detroit, Michigan, a former resident of Greenville, wife of Richard Susewit, died March 15 in Detroit. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Nora Banks Wright, and lived most of her life in Greenville before moving to Detroit. Surviving are two sons, Larry and Monroe Rice of Seneca. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at Perry Funeral Home in Detroit by the Rev.

Harold C. Vernon. Burial was in the ed Memorial Gardens in Detroit. L. C.

Berry WINNSBORO Lawton C. Berry, 61, died Wednesday night a Fairfield hospital. He was a native of Lee County, a son of the late Jonathan and Nannie Kennington Berry. He was. a member of Beulah Methodist Church, and Blythewood Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. caster, of Berry; Winnsboro sons, and W. James Berry of Simpsonville; six sisters, Mrs. Louise Bonds, Mrs. Myrtle Beam, Mrs.

Lola Tanner and Mrs. Leon McLendon of Winnsboro, Mrs. Leila Price of Columbia and Mrs. Mauise H. Champion of Killian, Texas; and two brothers, J.

W. Berry of Winnsboro and T. A. Berry of Lancaster. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4 p.m.

at Gordon Memorial Methodist Church by the Rev. John Griffith, the Rev. Claude McIntoish and the Rev. Roy E. Dickert.

Edna Codgill Sparks, 72, widow of George M. Sparks, of 626 Darlington died Thursday morning. She was a native of Cocke County, and was a daughter late James and Martha Snellson Codgill. Surviving are four sons, John R. and J.

Walter Sparks of Abbeville, Carl, Eugene of Calhoun Falls A. L. Sparks of Lithonia, four daughters, Mrs. Cora Davis of Abbeville, Mrs. Naomi Waters, Mrs.

Ruth Van Orden, and Mrs. Mattie Alewine of Calhoun Falls: three brothers. Alvin Codgill of Asheville, N.C., and Calvin and Joe Codgill of Cosby, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Warrenton Presbyterian Church by the Rev.

Sidney Ayer and the Rev. James Blackwell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve a pallbearers. The body is at Harris Funeral Home in Abbeville and will be at the home of a son, Walter Sparks on the old AbbevilleCalhoun Falls highway, after 2 p.m.

The body is at the funeral home. Sgt. Phillips WESTMINSTER Sgt. Ky Lee Phillips, 43, of the U.S. Army and a former resident of Westminster died Wednesday in Colorado.

He was a son of the John Gus and Nora Lee Phillips of Westminister. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margie A. Phillips of Charleston; and a brother, J. G.

Phillips Jr. of Waynesville, Mo. The body is being sent to Westminster for burial. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Sandifer Funeral Home. Mrs.

C. A. Gregory TRAVELERS REST Mrs. Dora Shipman Gregory, wife of C. A.

Gregory, of Rt. 1, Travelers Rest, Tigerville community, died Thursday in a Marietta hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at Cross Plains Baptist Church by the Rev. George Mitchell and the Rev.

Sam Avery. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny, Ralph and Max Peterson, Frank and Beaufort Pitman and Jack Hightower. The body is at Travelers Rest Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Friday.

Essie Holley Holloway, 88, widow of J. L. Holloway, died Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at a Greenwood nursing home. She was born in Fairfield County, a daughter of the late Pierce Moore Butler and Mary McMeekin Holley.

She lived in Chappells since 1905 and was a member of Ninety Six Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two sons, Ernest Holloway Chappells, Carl LeRoy Holloway of Greenwood; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. at Chappells Baptist Church cemetery by Dr. James A.

Bowers and the Rev. Roy Durst. The body is at Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood, and the family is at the home of a son, Carl Holloway, Milford Springs Road. M. L.

Leverette SPARTANBURG Marcus L. Leverette, 76, died in an Inman nursing home at 6:07 p.m. Thursday. He was a native of Lavonia, and was a retired weaver at Beaumont Mills. He was formerly of Woodruff and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are a wife, Mrs. Katie Browning five daughters, Leverettej. H. McCalister of Roebuck, Mrs. J.

C. Petty of Spartanburg, Mrs. Haskell Hand of Greenville, Mrs. David Kennedy of Enoree and Mrs. Amanda Sloan of Jacksonville, five sons, Marcus L.

Leverette of Spartanburg, Thomas of Enoree, Adger Leverette of Greenville, A. C. Leverette Pelzer, Gordon Leverette of Tampa, 38 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Lanford-Boyter Mortuary, Woodruff. Mrs.

J. L. Scott LIBERTY Mrs. Sarah Artie James L. Scott, died at the Bolding Scott, 73, widow of a daughter, Mrs.

Eva Whitlock, 22 Islin at 6 a.m. Thursday. She was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Matthew and Martha Garner Bolding. She lived most of her life in Liberty. She was a retired textile worker and member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, James D. Scott, Liberty; six daughters, Mrs. Jack (Julia) Atkins of Greenville, Mrs. Robert (Eva) Whitlock, Mrs. Ralph (Vera) Whitlock, Mrs.

Henry (Earline) Carpenter, Mrs. Carl (Christine) Sargent, Mrs. Jack (Sarah) Finley of Liberty; a brother, Frank Bolding, Dallas, N.C.; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Eastside Baptist Church by the Rev.

Mrs. McMillan INMAN Mrs. Mary E. McMillan, 96, of the New Prospect section, widow of Frank Wednesday McMillan, in died a at Spartan- 9:15 burg hospital. She was born in Spartanburg County, a daughter of the late Robert H.

and Alice Hunter Dodd. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Baiden of Myrtle in Florida before coming to Greenville ten years ago. He was a salesman.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Miller Nahum of Greenville; four sisters, Mrs. Esther Koplitz, Mrs. Claire Koplitz, Mrs. Ral Cammarata and Mrs.

Sally Assa, of New York City; and a brother, Albert Nahum of New York City. Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park by Rabbi Howard B. Zyskind. The body is at the Mackey Mortuary.

T. J. McAdams Funeral services for Thomas Jefferson MAdams, of Staunton Bridge Road, Rt. 11, Greenville, will be conducted Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Welcome Baptist Church by the Rev.

Prickett, 313 Aberdeen Drive. R. F. Boggs EASLEY Ross Ford Boggs, 69, of 100 W. Seventh died at his home Thursday morning.

He was a native of Liberty, a son of the late Walter and Mary Allgood Boggs. He lived in Easley for 26 years, and was a retired insurance representative and a member of Easley Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jamie Suddeth Boggs; a son, Walter Boggs of Liberty; a daughter, Mrs. W.

G. (Mary) Bryant of Easley; a brother, Paul J. Boggs of Winston-Salem, N. four sisters, Mrs. A.

D. (Ressie) Attaway of Greenville, Miss Amber Boggs of Greenville, Mrs. B. B. (Frances) Pratt of Liberty and Mrs.

Schubert McPhail of Honea Path; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Edward Craig.

L. Banks SALUDA Funeral services for Mrs. Sula Lott Banks, 85, widow of Samuel Lewis Banks. of 201 N. Rudolph who died Wednesday, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m.

at Red Bank Baptists Church, by and the the Rev. Rev. J. 0. Gilliam.

Burial will be in Travis Park Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Jeanette Seagle Lott. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Rushton and Mrs. Ruby Buchanan of Greenwood and Mrs.

William Knight and Mrs. L. E. Wheeler of Saluda; a son, Elbert Lewis Banks of Rock Hill; and 22 grandchildren and a number of greatgrandchildren. The body is at Ramey Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. L. E. Wheeler, 411 N. Main Saluda.

J. B. Gordon SIMPSON VILLE -James Boyd Gordon, 55, of Rt. 2, Simpsonville, died Thursday at 8:07 p.m. at a local hospital.

He was a native of the Greer area, and lived in Simpsonville for eight years. He was a son of the late D.F. and Pearl Golden Gordon and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, Piedmont, and the Brotherhood Beach, and Miss Frances McMillan of the home; two sons, William R. McMillan of Asheville, N.C., and Charles McMillan of Spartanburg; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Ramsey of New Prospect; a brother, Henry Dodd grandchildren of New and Prospect; two and great- five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church by the Rev. Eugene Franklin. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Petty Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

Jack Nahum Jack Nahum Jack Nahum, 58, of 6614 Augusta Road, Rock wood Trailer Park, died Thursday at 1:15 a.m. at a local hospital. Emma Snelgrove Welch. She lived in Greenwood since 1905 and was a member Church. of Main Street Methodist She was a retired bookkeeper. Surviving are a brother, Claude D. Welch of Greenwood.

Noah Solsby. He was a retired textile employe and attended Glendale Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Winnie Rush Solsby; a son, W. Earl Solsby of Spartanburg; three daughters, Mrs.

L. A. Webb of Spartanburg, Mrs. P.W. McCreary of Willingsburg, N.J.; and Mrs.

Webb, 2305 Bruce Ave. C. R. Talley SENECA-Clarence R. Talley, 64, was dead on arrival at Oconee Memorial hospital at 2 p.m.

Thursday. He was a native of Oconee County, a son of the late William Henry and Josephine Davis Talley. He was affiliated with Ford Motor Detroit, for 22 years. He returned to Seneca in 1948 where he was associated with Oconee Tire and Recap Co. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.

Helen Ruth Jenkins Talley; a son, W.H. (Bill) Talley of Seneca; two daughters, Mrs. C.D. Capelle of Atlanta, and Mrs. T.D.

Foster Jr. of Charleston, W. four sisters, Mrs. Clay W. Adams and Mrs.

He was a son of the late John Jefferson and Catherine Elizabeth Jenkins Duncan, and was born in Westminster. "He lived in Charleston and Anderson before moving to Greenville 13 years ago and was' a retired employe of Life Insurance Company. He was a Mason, a member of Solomon Lodge in Charleston, and of the Triune Methodist Church in Charleston. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Juanita McClellan Duncan; a son, Major John Hill Duncan stationed in Guam with the U.

S. Air Force; two sisters, Mrs. Wilton Townsend of Erwin, and Mrs. Joe R. Smith of Salinas, two brothers, H.

H. Duncan of Elberton, Ga. Fred H. Duncan of Atlanta; and three grandsons. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.
