Meares PELZEK, Aug. 6 George W. Mearcs, 87, died at his home near Pelzer iate today after a lingering illness.

Surviving are two sons, A L. Meares, of Pelzer, and W. T. Meares, of Greenville, and one daughter, Mrs. S.

H. Paxton, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday, Rev. J. E.
