Edwards TAYLORS Maxine Howard Edwards, 60, of 331 Wood Road, died July 19, 1992, at her home after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and she attended Emmanuel Tabernacle. Lawyer T. "Butch" Taylor 40, of 6 Jacqueline Lane, formerly of Greenville, died July 16, 1992, at a local hospital. He was a member of the Philli-pans Church and a supervisor for HRS Corp. He was a graduate of Gulf Coast Junior College of Panama City, and Jacksonville University. He played professional basketball with the Italian Professional Basketball League of Turin, Italy, for Pallecanestra Grimaldi.

Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Smith Taylor of Jacksonville; father, Lawyer T. Taylor Sr. of Greenville; a daughter, Lisa Taylor of Jacksonville; a son, Okoye King of Greenville; three sisters, Odessia Beeks, May Davis Brown and Josie Thomas of Greenville; and a brother, Horace Thomas Albert of Greenville. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday in Jacksonville with burial in a Jacksonville cemetery.

Courtesy of Watkins, Garrett, Woods Mortuary. Jack K. Wherry Jack Knox Wherry, 83. of 639 McDaniel died July 17, 1992, at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health. He was founder and chairman of 1992, at the VA Hospital in Augusta, after an extended illness.

He was a retiree of the U.S. Army after 22 years of service and a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Surviving are his mother, Eliza Harrison Kelley of Whitmire; three daughters, Warrenette Smith of Buffalo, Felicia Keisler of Union and Andrea Rae Kelley of Lock-hart; three sons, Dennis F. Kelley, Patrick S. Kelley and Samuel Kelley, all of Union; three sisters, Patricia Brazell of Whitmire, Jackie Warn of Virginia Beach, and Sharon Bumgamer of Clinton; and a brother, Nelven Kelley of Whitmire.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home Chapel, Union, with burial in Union Memorial Gardens with military rites. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Carley McCall LIBERTY carley McCall, 75, of 18 Iselin died July 19, 1992, at Baptist Medical Center in Easley. He was a retiree of Dan River Mills and member of Eastside Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Viola Garner McCall of the home; two sisters, Mamie Brooks and Lizzie Kelly, both of Atlanta; and a brother, John McCall of Seneca. Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Eastside Baptist Church with burial in Westview Cemetery.

Dennis Payne WALHALLA Dennis Pay Connl Bailey Connie Bailey, 39, of 39-A Hampton Arms Apartments, died July 19, 1992, after a lengthy illness. She was a graduate of Gardner-Webb College in Boiling Springs, N.C., and a teacher at Thornwell School in Clinton. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clinton. Surviving are her mother, Angela Cassanova Bailey of Greenville; and two brothers, William Franklin Bailey Jr. of Kissimee, and Thomas Anthony Bailey of Fountain Inn.

Main Danville. The family is at 173 Dalton Danville. Willi Campbell Willie Campbell of 19 Patton Road died July 18, 1992, at his home. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Saloma Tabitha Mauldin, former state poet laureate PICKENS Tabitha Ann Mauldin, former state poet laureate and local writer, died July 17, 1992, after a brief illness.

A resident of 518 Hampton she attended Anderson College and Erskine College. She was a member of Pickens Presbyterian Church. She was a columnist for several Upstate newspapers. A historical novel she wrote was published. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs.

Roy M. Schooley of Metairie, and Mrs. Dwight A. Holder of Pickens; and two brothers, Mason W. Mauldin of Ceres, and Dr.

Mrs. Wade H. Greene Nelle Hill Greene, 81, of Hampton Arms Apartments, died July 17, 1992. She was the owner and operator of Carole's Record Shop on Wade Hampton Boulevard from 1962 to 1986. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
