Jackson, 65, widow of Samuel Jackson, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Survivors: daughters, Frankie Gary of Clinton, Celeste Pitts of Oxen Hill, Md. and Nannie Lee Jackson of the lies on doctor visits, to help navigate the red tape of insurance coverage, and to let them know what services are available. The difficulties associated with having a child with disabilities can be hard on many levels, Evington says. In some cases, it can put pressure on marriages, and in others one parent may be left with all the caregiving responsibilities.

Having someone to talk to can ease the strain, she says. Support parents receive 12 hours of training initially and another 15 hours each year, Evington says.
