He retired from the Spartanburg Water System and was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife, Martha West Acton of the home; a son, Tony Acton of the U.S. Navy, Norfolk, a daughter, Jennifer Acton of the home; a brother, Wayne Acton of Wellford; and three sisters, Margie Henderson of Lyman, Ann Leonard of Boiling Springs, and Blanche Hollifield of Chesnee.

William Boinest, Prosperity William Deleal Boinest, 73, of 410 Boinest Road, died Thursday at Providence Hospital. He was an Army veteran and retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas Co. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he formerly served on the church council.

He was a member of Jamil Shrine Temple and was a former member of the American Kennel Club. Surviving are his wife, Stoutie Wedaman Boinest; his mother, Mamie Livingston Boinest of Prosperity; two stepsons, Robert Owens of Columbia, and Blair Owens of Florence; a stepdaughter, Robbie Barroll of Charlotte; two sisters, Helen Suber Pomaria, and Mary Jean Boinest of Prosperity; seven stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgranddaughter. He was formerly associated with textiles in the Atlanta area for seven years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a Baptist. Surviving are a daughter, Cathy Garrett of Greenville; four sons, Richard Buchanan of Greer, Johnny Buchanan of the U.S. Air Force in Sumter, Rodney McClain of Atlanta, and Mark McClain of Orlando, four sisters, Louise Armstrong of Fountain Inn, Dottie Bell and Frances Vest, both of Greenville, and Ruby Stoddard of Taylors; two brothers, David Edward Buchanan of Greenville, and Bobby A.

Orland H. Corwin, Ninety Six Orland Henry Corwin, 91, of Route 1, Fruit Hill Road, died Thursday at his home. He was a missionary and served in Colombia, South America, for 30 years. He later was involved in prison ministry for 23 years. He was a graduate of Trinity College in Florida and attended Oklahoma University, where he studied linguistics.

He was. an ordained minister and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Werts Corwin of the home; two sons, Carl Corwin of Columbia, and Grover Corwin of Rio Frio, Texas; two daughters, Anne Corwin of Crystal City, Texas, and Glenda Corwin of Atlanta; a sister, Eunice Oglesbee of Mesa, and seven grandchildren. She was the founder and current vice president of Dipple Plumbing Inc. and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
