A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late E.G. and Dora Blackwood McCullough. He was a retired truck driver for YoungbloodABF Truck Lines and was the founder of McCullough's Shoes and McCullough Wrecker Service in Boiling Springs. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church in Cherokee County.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Weathers McCullough of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, W.E. "Billy" and Frances McCullough of Greer, Jimmy Keith and Pat McCullough and Grady E. "Pap" and Judy McCullough, all of Boiling Springs; one sister, Sara Bradley of Boiling Springs; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Martin Ansel Poole, Greenville Martin Ansel "Andy" Poole, 89,, of 215 Piney Mountain Road, died Monday following a brief stay at the Easley Nursing Center. Born in the Locust Hill community of Northern Greenville County, he attended Greenville County Schools and fraduated from Furman University in 933. He was a World War II veteran who served with the Fourth Naval Construction Battalion.

Prior to his retirement in 1974, he served as superintendent of Streets, Roads and Sewers for the City of Greenville. He was a member of Northgate Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Etta P. Poole; a son, Stephen A. Poole and daughter-in-law, Valda S.

Poole; and two granddaughters, Rachel and Stephanie Poole, all of Travelers Rest. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. 4, 12000, at Oakmont Nursing Center, ii Born in Jackson County, N.C, she was a daughter of the late Julius V. and Leona Owens Brown. She was widowed by her first husband, Lewis W. Greer; and her second husband, John F. Ferguson.

Mrs. Ferguson retired from the Greenville Hospital System and was a member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are daughters, Phyllis V. Moore of Greenville, and Mary Hawkins Ingram of Easley; a sister, Flossie B. West of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Geraldine Mahon Sheridan, Taylors Geraldine Mahon Sheridan, 59, of 20 Kindlin Way, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at her home. Born in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Esabelle Bessick Mahon. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and a volunteer with the Greenville Hospital System.

Surviving are her husband, Donald O. Sheridan a son, Donald O. Sheridan III of Taylors; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen M. and Mark Flores of Austin, Texas; a grandson, Michael Flores of Austin; a brother, William J. Mahon Jr.

of Ohio; a niece; and a nephew. Chandee Srisurat, Simpsonville Chandee Srisurat, 88, widow of Nu- porn Srisurat, of 110 Menlo Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at her home. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1969, at the urging of the firm's then-senior partner, Sidney J. Weinberg. He maintained a home in Alexandria, while working in New York as chairman of Golman Sachs International for about 12 years. In that capacity, he was instrumental in establishing the firm's business in Europe and Asia. He also started the firm's U.S.

Fayette A. Cannon II, Cleveland Fayette A Cannon II, 79, of Cleveland, longtime Greenville area businessman, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 5, 2000, at his home after a period of declining health. Mr. Cannon was born in Butte, son of the late Fayette A.

Cannon Sr. and Nellie Christen Cannon. For the past 10 years, Mr. Cannon has been the proprietor of Pop's Rock Shop at Aunt Sue's Country Corner on Highway 11 in Pickens County. For many years he had been active in Piano and Organ sales in Greenville, having owned Cannon's Music and Roger Williams Music Center at McA-lister Square.

He was a member of Eastlan Baptist Church and was a World War II veteran of The U.S. Army Air Corps. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Richards Cannon, noted local organist and entertainer; his stepmother, Ruth Cannon of Butte; two daughters, Nellie Merritt and her husband, Donald, of Powdersville, and Phyllis Holt of Cleveland; two sons, Fay Cannon III, MD, and his wife, Susan Fagan Cannon of Tampa, and the Rev. Richard O. "Rocky" Cannon and his wife, Susan Moody Cannon of Augusta, 10 grandchildren, Christine Merritt of Mechanicsburg, Michelle Shore, and Donald Madison Merritt both As Treasury secretary from 1965 to 1968, he was the country's point man on President Lyndon Johnson's "guns and butter" economic policy, a term describing the administration's insistence that a tax wasn't needed to pay for the escalating war in Vietnam and the domestic programs of the Great Society.

Behind the scenes, Fowler lobbied within the administration for a 10 percent tax increase as inflationary pressure began to build from Vietnam war-related activities. Born in Greenville, Mrs. Childress was the daughter of Lucille Kilby McMahan of Simpsonville, and the late James Clyde McMahan. She was a seamstress of Foothills Manufacturing in Easley, and a member of West End Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Bobby Joe Childress of the home; two daughters, Mary Ann Albertson of Easley, and Cindy Lee Moody of Dacusville; two brothers, J.C. McMahan of Hickory, N.C., and Doug McMahan of Greenville; three sisters, Nancy Cobb of Greenville, Sandra Lambert of Liberty, and Patricia Hampton of Easley; one granddaughter, Cortni Albertson; and her mother-in-law, Marie Childress of Easley.

Mrs. Childress was predeceased by a brother, Jerry McMahan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at West End Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev.
