Survivors: a daughter, Shawana Roger J. Babcock, Fletcher, N.C. Roger J. Babcock died July 8, 2000, in a tragic motorcycle accident on Hwy. 414 in Gowensville, S.C.

Roger was born on October 31, 1944, in the state of New Jersey. Roger was the third of four children born to Anna and Chester Babcock. Roger was known for his friendly smile and positive outlook on life. He did everything to his fullest potential. He loved adventure and enjoyed skiing, racing, motorcycle riding, boating, fishing and flying.

He was a gentle and loving spirit and his physical presence will be surely missed. His spirit is alive and well. He is remembered by: mother, Anna Babcock of Greenville (NHQ; a daughter, Sandra Sheppler of Brookings, two brothers, Ronald Babcock of Union, and Chester Babcock of N.J.; soulmate and son, Angela M. Jones and Jonathan D. Jones of Fletcher, N.C; grandchildren; stepchildren; nieces and nephews; and friends.

A memorialvisitation service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2000, at The Mackey Mortuary, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, S.C. This memorial will be a celebration of the memory of Roger. Born in Ochlocknee, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Mamie Carter Rehberg. Member: Reho-both Baptist Church. Born in Shenandoah, Iowa, Mrs. Boyer was the daughter of the late John R. and Florence Kampe Smith. Mrs. Boyer had retired as an executive secretary for Burlington Northern Truck Lines, and she had been active in publishing and editing for several newspapers.

As a former member of National Secretaries Association, she had served as a past president of the Galensburg, Illinois, Chapter. She attended Landmark Baptist Church in Easley. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Deborah Boyer of Roseville, a daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Kenneth Brackbill of Easley; two brothers, Robert Smith of Carmichael, and John K. Smith of Farragut, Iowa; four grandchildren, John Kenneth Brackbill, Janene Joy Brackbill, Todd Michael Boyer and Chad Michael Boyer; and one greatgrandchild, Khylie Elisabeth Boyer. "Bill" Mayfield and his wife, Marilyn of Greenville, and Edward L. "Bud" Mayfield Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Greer; a daughter, Rose M. Griffith and her husband, Charles, of Greer; four grandchildren, Tina Rutledge and her husband, Tal, of Fountain Inn, Scott Mayfield and his wife, Amy, of Greer, and Teryn Mayfield and Marty Mayfield, both of Greer; and four freat-grandchildren, Taylor and Trent utledge and Sydney and Caleb May-field. Born in Clinton, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Simpson McCoy.

Mr. McCoy was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a retired cabinet maker and a member of Laurens Church of God. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Richard Put-man and Marlene and Ron Mitchell, all of Laurens; one stepson and step-daughter-in-law, Raymond and Dianne Lanford of Pineville, two sisters, Doris Gibbs and Vivian O'Sullivan, both of Clinton; three grandchildren, Melissa Templeton, Teresa Putman Carr and Joshua Mitchell; and two great-grandchildren.

and Bessie Harrefc-son Hughes Sr. He was an Army veft eran of World War II, retired from Daniel Construction Co. and was a member of Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith. He is survived by his widow, Vivian EIrod Smith of the home; a son, Donald and daughter-in-law, Wilma, of Lake Jackson, Texas; and a son, Curtis and daughter-in-law, lrma E. Smith, of Greenville, S.C; a brother, L.C. Smith of Abbeville, S.C; two sisters, Merle Drake of Fair Play, S.C, and Farrah Jones of Anderson, S.C; seven grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Gollub said crews also removed this week a large double billboard near the BMW motorcycle dealership on the north side of Laurens Road. The parcel is owned by Jack Frasher, president of Land Rover Greenville and the motorcycle dealership. Zoning in the new Pleasantburg Drive Overlay District, located between Wade Hampton Boulevard and Cleveland Street, doesn't permit new billboards, so Frasher didn't have to take his down. Frasher said it was a tough decision to remove the billboard, which was a good advertising tool. "It's a two-edged sword it was good and it was bad," Frasher said.

Louise B. Cooper, Greenville Louise Barrow Cooper, 88, of 14 Oakway Circle, wife of John Wiley Cooper, died Tuesday, July 1 1, 2000. Born in Bells Landing, she was a daughter of the late Thaddeus Bed-olia Barrow and Mary Ola Owens Barrow. She was a former resident of Franklin, N.C, where she had lived for 18 years. Retired from the Greenville County School System, she taught many years at Blythe Elementary School: She held a Masters De- free in Elementary ducation.

Mrs. Cooper was' a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, and had held numerous Cooper church offices. She was a member of First United Methodist Church while living in Franklin, N.C. Also surviving are two daughters, Betty Cooper Stansell and her husband, Dan, of Greenville, Ann Cooper Jones and her husband, Tim, of Travelers Rest; a son, the Rev. Wiley Barrow Cooper, and his wife, Emily, of Columbia; a brother, Thaddeus B.

Barrow of Sylvia, N.C; seven grandchildren, Peter Michael Cooper, Christopher Alan Cooper, Angela Bowden, Har-court Bull IV, Timothy Blake Jones, Daniel Phillip Stansell and Jonathan Patrick Stansell; and two great-grandchildren, Harcourt (Nickelous Bull) and Christian Bull. She was predeceased by a sister, Myrtle (Dean) Barrow; and three brothers, Glenn, Ralph and Owens Barrow. Funeral services will be conducted atll a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Warren officiating.

Paul Woodrow Daniel, Piedmont Paul Woodrow Daniel, 82, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2000, following a sudden illness. Mr. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bertha Seymore Daniel of Piedmont, S.C; and a grandson, Roland Woodrow Johnson of North Richland Hills, Texas. Mr. Daniel was born Sept.

12, 1917, in Abbeville, S.C, and was the last surviving child of the late Gordon and Laura Daniel. Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his daughter, Doris "Eloise" Johnson of Piedmont, S.C; a granddaughter, Rhonda Ann Johnson of Piedmont, S.C; two sisters, Nettie King of Staff, S.C, and Cecil Sanders of.Toccoa, and a brother, James "Bub" Daniel of Anderson, S.C. Mr. Daniel was a 1948 charter member of Judson Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he and his wife are current members.

He was retired from Roadway Express, Inc. after 28 years of service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, July 13, 2000, at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest at 6710 White Horse Road, Greenville, S.C. Service: 2 p.m.
