The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Avant was born Dec. 31, 1962, Walterboro, of F.W. Avant "Dr Cross Hill Sand Naomi Ridge of Bamberg.

Mr. Avant was a graduate of R.B. Stall High School in Charleston and Winthrop College, and was a member of the National Guard. Todd was owner and operator of A Dry Cleaners. He attended Forest Hill Presbyterian Church.

Todd was a devoted husband and son, and was loved by his friends and family. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Sheila Wilson Avant, of Charlotte; a sister, Teresa Brady, of Greenville; brother-in-law, John Brady; niece, Mary Katelyn Brady; and nephew, Brooks Brady, all of Greenville. Annie J. Cassell, Greenville Annie Jackson Cassell, 84, of 15050 Eastern Meadow Way, Greer, widow of Waymon Herbert Cassell, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001. Born in Front Royal, she was a daughter of the late David and Carrie Johnson Jackson. She was a retired employee of Ayers Leather Shop, a former employee of Stone Manufacturing Co.

and was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Priscilla Cassell of the home, Linda Wilson of Belton, Susan Martin of Greer, and Rebecca, McCauley of Greenville; sisters, Pearl Oughten of New Jersey, Bessie Meckler of Kansas and Alice Babcock of Aiken; eight grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Grace Corbin, of Laurens; a sister, Martha Childress, of Clinton; a granddaughter raised in the home, Kathy Snow, of Laurens; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Family members are at the residence. Thomas Talmadge Hill, Piedmont Thomas Talmadge Hill of 887 Bracken Road, died Oct. 25, 2001, after an extended illness. Born in Greenville County May 29, 1916, he was a son of the late Alfred Sanders and Othella Nelson Hill. Mr.

Hill retired from American Equipment Company, a division of Fluor Daniel, and was a life-long member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Nettie Sue Brown Hill, in 1987. Surviving are three children, James and Joyce Gerlach Hill of Summerville, Jean and Lowell T. Boyd of Waxhaw, N.C., and Jo Ann and Dan McDaniel of Greenville. Katherine Marie Bosang Moore, 81, formerly of Greenville, died Oct. 25, 2001. Born in Chester, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Elizabeth Jane Woodyard Bosang. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and a member of Lee Road United Methodist Church while living in Greenville.

She preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Moore, in 1967. Willie F. Rushton, Anderson Willie Feltz Rushton, 77, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at Richard Campbell Nursing Center. He was born in Anderson County, a son of the late Jefferson and Anna Sanders Rushton. A U.S.

Army veteran of World War II, he retired from Piedmont Industries and was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Sam Poe Lodge No. 284 A.F.M. and the Hejaz Shrine. Surviving are daughters, Rose Marie Waaser of and Pamela Jean Doskocil of Buford, sisters, Rosa Durham and Elizabeth Rushton, both of Oteen, N.C.; brother, George W.

Rushton, of Greer; and grandchildren, Alex W. Morgan Melissa Marie Morgan, Ricky Thompson and Justin Doskocil. He was predeceased by a daughter, Janet Lorraine Rushton. A native of Greenville County, he was a son of Pauline Coody Sanford Warren of Piedmont and the late J.C. Sanford. He was predeceased by his wife, Lois Morton Locke. Fennell was a retired weaver and attended Riverside Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are a daughter, Faye and husband Gary Gillespie, of Easley; three sons, Dean and wife Catherine Locke, of Greenville, Joe and wife Darlene Locke, and Johnny Locke of Easley; a sister, Millie Jordan; a sister-in-law, Betty Locke, of Easley; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. McKee, Greenville Gaynell Gosnell McKee, 86, widow of William Frank McKee, of 64 Emma died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at "Oakmont West Nursing Center. A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late W. Frank and Annie Lou Edmonds Gosnell. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

She was the last member of her immediate family. Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at The Wood Mortuary. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The families are at their respective homes. James L. McNinch, Anderson James L. McNinch, 83, of 2230 Ridgewood died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at his residence.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of Greenwood High School and HarUniversity in Texas. He was a retired optometrist and studied theology. He was a Baptist. He the son of the late Leonard pras and Lucia Henderson McNinch.

22, 2001, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans' Nursing Home in Anderson. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Feb. 4, 1920, he was a son of the late Leonard Passman and Helen Hanmer Miller. He received his B.S.

degree in engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, a Master's degree in Taxes from DePaul University, Chicago, and CPA degree from the University of Illinois. Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World obtaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was a retired self-employed CPA and financial planner.

Formerly of Des Plaines, he had made his home in Greenwood since 1994. Jack C. Vandiver, Athens, Ga. Jenkins "Jack" Cartledge Vandiver, born Feb. 6, 1924, in Abbeville, South Carolina, died Wednesday, Oct.

24, 2001, after several years of declining health. He was a son of the late Claud Jacob and Jewel Cartledge Vandiver. He grew up in Abbeville, attended Clemson University, and graduated in the first class of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at King's Point, Long Island, New York. He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country as a lieutenant on Liberty Ships in the Atlantic. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Lawson Everett; his children, Rachel and Billy Brown of Dublin, Sally and Jack Vandiver Jr.

of Athens, and Mary Joe Vandiver of Atlanta. Additional family members include eight grandchildren, William C. ill of Dublin, Catherine Brown Warner of Athens, Rachel Brown Smith of Macon, Catherine Vandiver Knight of Cartersville, Ann Elisabeth Vandiver of Athens, John Vandiver Grice, Warren Calhoun Grice, and Charles Lawson Grice of Macon; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dan Pierre Vandiver of Abbeville, and Nathan Bond Vandiver of San Antonio, Texas; and a sister, the late Floyce Vandiver Smith, of Charlotte, N.C. Mr. Vandiver was a general contractor and engineer.

After the war he worked as a general superintendent and engineer with Daniel Construction Co. of Greenville, and came to Athens in 1957 to build a new facility for Westinghouse. In 1958, he joined Mathis Construction where he served as vice president and chief engineer until 1968, when he founded his own business, Vandiver Construction Co. A Mason and Shriner, he served as a Deacon and Elder of Central Presbyterian Church, was a past member of the Kiwanis Club and served as president of Athens Area Chamber of Commerce. Active in the civic community, he was president of North Georgia Apprentice Council, Director of the United Way, Athens Boys' Club and Athens Home Builders Association.

He was a member of Associated General Contractors of America, American Institute of Contractors, Touchdown Club, Clemson IPTAY, Country Club and was a staunch Republican. Services will be held at Central Presbyterian Church today at 11 a.m., with Dr. Walter Cook, Dr. Bob Bohler and Dr. Charlie Cook officiating.

Interment will be at p.m. in the family plot at Lane Cane Cemetery, Abbeville. Active pallbearers will be the grandsons, grandsons-in-law, Robert Knight of Cartersville, Warner Smith of Macon, Tommy E. "Corky" Warner Jr. of Athens, and friends Jim Brown, Dale Gardner, Bill Gordon, Sam Harshman and Allen Stevenson of Athens.

An honorary escort will be comprised of former employees of Vandiver Construction Co. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 380 Alps Road, Athens, Ga. 30606. Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Florence S.

Williams, Hendersonville, N.C. Florence S. Williams, 97, of Hendersonville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at Carolina Village. Born in Charleston, she had been a resident of Henderson County since 1947.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Williams who died in 1983. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her two sons, Harry F. Williams Jr.

and his wife Mary, of Hendersonville, and Edwin P. Williams and his wife Ann, of Greer; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at 3 p.m. at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev.
