Barksdale, 91, formerly of 16 Bridwell Avenue, died on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in Hampton, Va. Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late James and Lila Martin Bonaparte. She was a 50 year gold-star member of Springfield Baptist Church.

Survivors: brother, Henry (Sue) Bonaparte of Pelham, N.Y.; grandchildren, Gale (Donald) Burrell and Andrea Jones, both of Hampton, Va. and Kirkland (Lila) Jones of Philadelphia, four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Service: Saturday, 3 p.m. a at Springfield Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens, S.C.

The family is at 398 Oscar Street, Greenville. Watkins, Garrett Woods Mortu- ary Margaret Howard Barry Travelers Rest Margaret "Maggie" Howard Barry, 96, beloved wife of the late David A. Barry, Sr. and formerly of Travelers Rest, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at her sons home in Fairfax, Va. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late William G.

and Maggie Love Howard. Mrs. Barry was a retired school teacher. Surviving are her two sons: David A. Barry, Jr.

(Gayle) and Richard H. Barry (Mary Ann); four grandchildren: Brian (Jodi), Keith (Kami), David III and Brandon; two great-grandchildren: Sean and Allison; six nieces and seven nephews. Along with her parents, Mrs. Barry was predeceased by siblings, Ralph, William, Thomas, Love, Cornelia, Alice and Mary. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10 a.m.

Taylors Final Services for James "Jimmy" Reece Bennett, a descendant of one of the Upstate's oldest families, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the Gethsemane Baptist Church, 711 Worley Road, where he was a church deacon. The body will be placed in the church at noon and the family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to the start of the services. Mr.

Bennetts body is lying in repose from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the Brown Funeral Home, 506 Arlington Avenue. The celebration of his life is being led by his beloved wife of 36 years, Carol Ann Bennett, and their children, including daughter, Nancy Ralisha Bennett, of Taylors, and sons, James Bennett, of Spartanburg, and Carolus Mouyer Bennett, of Taylors. Mr. Bennett is also survived by his mother, Nannie Mae Griffith Bennett; three brothers, Jerry Wayne Bennett and Lee Roy Bennett, both of Greer, and Darrell L.

Bennett, of Greenville; two grandchildren, Chauncey Reilly Bennett and Devin Miother chelle Bennett; and relatives friends. He was predeceased by his father, Lemuel Bennett. Jimmy Bennett was a standout graduate of the old Lincoln High School in Taylors and earned a Bachelors degree in science education from Clemson University. His education and training benefited such as the Greenville County Schools, Michelin Tire Corporation and Polymer Industries. The Brown Funeral Home is serving the family.

Mary Jo Chase Easley Mary Jo Cisson Chase, 66, of Easley, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Easley, Ms. Chase was, the daughter of the late Hubert Newton and Gladys Mae Griffin Cisson. She graduated from Easley High School and was a homemaker and caregiver. Ms.

Chase loved gardening. Surviving are a son, Larry "Sonny" Chase, Jr. of Carlsbad, CA; a brother, Wallace Cisson of Easley; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a special niece, Shelia. Ms. Chase was predeceased by a brother, Billy Cisson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body is at the Robinson Funeral Home- Downtown where the family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday and will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m.

William (Bill) Henry Colbert, 71, of 1 West Coral Bean Queen Creek, Arizona, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Chandler Regional. Born in Atlanta, Georgia to the parents of Drury and Ollie Colbert. After serving the Army he met Katherine while she was attending Grady Memorial Nursing School in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Connie Johnson and Anna Fuller Johnson and wife of the late Roosevelt Cunningham. She is survived by one daughter, Willie Cunningham of Bronx, N.Y.; one sister, Lillie Jones of Woodruff; and two grandsons, Charles Butler, Kenneth Butler of Newark, N.J. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Beasley Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain Inn, with Rev. Melvin Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in the Wateree Baptist Church cemetery, Mountville, S.C. The family is at the home of a niece, Shirley J. Clark, 116 Hortizone Drive, Woodruff. Leorah Franklin Greenville Leorah 'Lee' Carmer Franklin, 94, formerly of Pittsford, N.Y. and Hendersonville, N.C., passed away peacefully on March 31, 2008.

A native of Buffalo, N.Y., she was born on February 13, 1914, the daughter of Roy N. and Lottie S. Carmer. She had moved to Greenville in 1997, where she enjoyed many friends and wonderful care at Windsor House, Greenville. Mrs.

Franklin is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and James Holmes of Greer, S.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Vera M. to Eugene Frank Gregory and Novie Pitts Gregory. Frank attended Parker High School and was of the Baptist faith. He worked at the Judson Milliken Plant and retired in 1995 after 30 years as supervisor for J.P.

Stevens Dunean Plant. Frank was recognized by J.P. Stevens for his motivational skills and consistent quality standards. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Montiene Davis Gregory; a son, Gene Gregory and wife Celia, of Ft. Lauderdale, two sisters, Ada Nelson of Greenville and Lois Dudley of St.

Petersburg, many nieces and nephews; and a mother-in-law, Rubye Davis. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Shepherd. Frank was best known for his caring generosity to everyone he met. His genuine love and understanding for his fellow man was his hallmark trait, and he never met a stranger. He left a trail of laughter and smiles throughout his life, and he touched the hearts of all.

The funeral service will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation from p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at the residence.

Laurie May Herbert Wilmington, N.C. Ms. Laurie May Herbert, 79, of Wilmington, N.C., died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Warrenville, S.C., on February 28, 1929, the daughter of the late Andrew McGee Herbert and Katherine Olive Thompson Herbert, both from Pelzer, S.C. Ms.

Herbert was a graduate of The University of South Carolina in Columbia where she was editor of the campus daily newspaper, the She worked during her career as a member of the staff of the Greenville, S.C. "News" as editor of the society pages. She was also a member of the staff of the "Star-News" in Wilmington, N.C., eventually retiring in 1994. Ms. Herbert was always active in the Episcopal Church during her life.

She was a former Sister of the Episcopal Order of Saint Helena and had been the organist of Episcopal churches in Greenville, S.C., and in Wilmington, N.C. Currently she was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Wilmington where she taught a Bible class. Surviving are two sisters, Mary Eloise Herbert of Decatur, Ga. and Christine Thompson Herbert Raymond and husband Robert of Falls Church, one brother, Andrew McGee Herbert and wife Wendell of Biloxi, one niete, Barbara Raymond of Vienna, and one nephew, Robert A.

Raymond and wife Cleta of Vienna, Va. A memorial service will be held at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 16 North 16th Wilmington, N.C., on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with The Rev. Theodore H.

McConnell officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church Flower Guild, 16 N. 16th Wilmington, NC 28401.

Lindley attended North Greenville College and worked for the 3M Corporation and retired in 2000. Mr. Lindley was a man of many talents; he was an accomplished artist, an avid golfer, he loved the outdoors, animals, and travel. He loved riding his motorcycle and hiking. He will be missed by the many family and friends who love him dearly.

He is survived by his wife Donna C. Lindley of the home; a son, Steve Lindley and his wife Suzanne of Gaffney; two stepdaughters, April Haywald and her husband Ken of Clinton, S.C. and Erin Desai and her husband Harsh of Charlotte, N.C.; two grandchildren, Kasey and Kade Haywald; two special friends, Ken Mostella and Leroy Arrowood; his many friends at 3M and The Rock at Joccasse Resort and his two best canine friends, Storm and Junior. A memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at The Howze Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the mortuary.

(864)834-8051 Diane Morse Moore Mauldin Mrs. Diane Morse Moore 71, of 110 Drury Lane, Mauldin, S.C.

died Thursday (April 10, 2008) at her residence. Mrs. Moore was born February 10, 1937 in Laurens County, S.C. to the late George Morse and Margaret Little Morse. She was educated in the Laurens County Schools.

She was a retired dental assistant for Dr. Suber in Mauldin for 25 years. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed crafting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. (Bill) Moore, brothers Randy Morse and Reginald Morse sister Gail Estes.

Surviving are daughters, Vicki Moore of Simpsonville, Cindy Dismuke and husband Henry of Greenville, Angie Pack and husband Thel of Greenville; sister, Valarie Wolfe of Lake Wiley, S.C.; grandchildren, Kyle Billingsley and wife Carmella and Katie Billingsley. The family will see friends at Cannon Funeral Home, Fountain Inn Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times the family will be at the residence 110 Drury Lane, Mauldin. Memorials may be made to The Cancer Center of the Carolinas in honor of Rachael Gleason, 65 International Drive, Greenville, SC 29615. Cannon Funeral Home of Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.

Cremation Society of South Carolina 233- 7334 Laurence Gause Moncks Corner Laurence A. Gause died Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Mr. Gause was the husband of Frederica C. Gause.

He was the son of the late Laurence A. Gause, Sr. and Mary Barry Gause. Mr. Gause was a graduate of Clemson University where he recently served as a member of the University Board of Visitors.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner. He was a retired sales representative with Baxter Healthcare. During his 32 years with Baxter he earned numerous awards including Salesman of the Year, member of the Masters Club and Presidents Advisory Board. He made numerous trips to the Middle East to establish sales channels after Operation Desert Storm. He was a past member of the Hibernian Society of Charleston, the Charleston Lions Charleston Elks Club, the Charleston Executive Association, the Charleston Yacht and the James Island Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife of Moncks Corner and cousins of Pinopolis, Goose Creek and Holly Hill. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. The visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 419 West Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461 or to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.

The family is being served by Palmetto Cremation Society, Charleston, SC. Frank Gregory, Jr. Greenville Frank Gregory, 74, of 410 Penarth Drive, died Thursday, April 9, 2008. He was born in Easley, S.C. June 25, 1933 Kenneth Leland Noe, 90, of Holmes Drive, a retired member of the Greenville City Police Department for 38 years, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008.

Born April 1, 1918 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Gentry Irwin and Olus Cook Noe. Mr. Noe joined the Greenville City police force in 1942 and worked his way through the ranks. He started as a patrolman, then in communications and finally as a detective in 1955. He served under Chief James H.

Jennings and also Chief Harold C. Jennings and was following a family tradition of his father, who served 38 years with the Greenville City Police Department; a brother, Grover Noe, who served as Sheriff of York County, S.C.; and also of a first cousin, Jim Noe, who served 38 years with the Greer police force. He served our country in the Battle of The Bulge during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army and was a member of Northgate Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Margaret Wynns Noe, who die December 15, 2007.

Surviving are his daughter and son-inlaw, Katherine N. and Wade Stack, Jr. and by his son and daughterin-law, Ronnie and Sandi Noe, all of Greenville, S.C.; his grandchildren: Dawn Greene of Chicago, Jason and Allison Stack and Justin Baber, all of Greenville, S.C. and his four great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 3 p.m.

at Northgate Baptist Church with Dr. Robert B. Whaley, Jr. and Dr. Barry Jimmerson officiating.

Entombment will follow in Serenity Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park with honors provided by The Greenville City Police Department. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 3 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northgate Baptist Church, 633 Summit Greenville, SC 29609. The Mackey Mortuary.
