Atkins, passed peacefully January 8, 2010 at Baptist Hospital Easley in her 85th year. She was born in Pickens County to the late John Thomas Rackley and Lorene Geneva Farmer. Loving mother to David F. Atkins (Cathy) of Milan, adoring grandmother of Michael (Jennifer), Tyer, Blakley (Chip) and Rae (Brian); devoted great-grandmother of Madison and Logan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by sons, Steve Atkins and J. Robert Atkins; and daughter, Shirley Diane Smith. Mrs. Atkins was retired from Alice Manufacturing, was a devout Christian and a member of Glassy Mountain Baptist Church. Funeral service: 11 a.m.

Dillard Funeral Home Patsy McAlister Barton Simpsonville Patsy Ruth "Patty" McAlister Barton, 63, of 3455 Fork Shoals Road, died Friday, January 8, 2010, at Hillcrest Hospital. Born in Belton, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Gertrue Lockey McAlister. She was a homemaker and a member of Fountain Inn Church of God of Prophecy. She loved animals, especially her dog. Surviving are her husband, John R.

Barton of the home; children: Danny Wilson, Ann Nelson, Dale Wilson, Terry Lynn McGalon, Troy Barton, Johnny Barton and Rosa Robbs; 12 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fountain Inn Church of God of Prophecy with Reverend Steven Christopher officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m.

Smith (Kent) of Demorest, Judy B. Samples (Craig) of Suwanee, Robin B. Nichols (Steve) of Buford, Ga. and Dawn B. Dooly John IV) of Buford, Ga; his grandchildren, Stella and Samuel Smith, David (and Cary) Nichols, Mark Nichols and Lindsey Jordan, Phillip (and Megan) Niand Thomas Nichols, and Ruth and Rebecca Dooly; sisters, Mildred Garrett (Carl) of Laurens, Nena Burts of Laurens and Sue Elledge (Lamar) of Ware Shoals; stepchildren, Scott Thackston (Kristin) of Greenville, and Kim Thackston Luequi (Steven) of Greer; and stepgrandchildren, Andrew Forrester, Amber Luequi, and Kendall and Evan Thackston.

Henry was born in Ware Shoals on July 14, 1925, a son of the late Lonnie and Essie Bishop. He was predeceased by Margaret Gambrell, Lee Bishop, Everett Bishop, and Barbara Ann Williams, and Marian Ruby Bishop. Henry served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, as a Gunner's Mate 3rd Class onboard the USS Swanson DD443 in the South Pacific theatre. After the War, Henry married the late Rebecca Wood and graduated from Clemson University, where he majored in all-thingstextile and ensued upon a career in management in the textile industry with Riegel Textiles and Habersham Mills (GA), and later in the sales and consulting of textile machinery.

Henry was a proud veteran, a Clemson Tigers enthusiast, a member of the Lion's club, a deacon in several Southern Baptist churches, a Sunday School teacher, and a faithful friend to many. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service which will be Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Ware Shoals, S.C., with Henry's nephew, the Rev.

Rhonda was born in Albany, a daughter of Haskell Charles and Geraldine Rich Galbreath. She was of the Baptist faith and was formerly employed with Fluor Daniel and Greenpoint Credit Corp. Rhonda graduated Pickens High School in 1987 and attended Anderson College. Survivors include her parents of Pickens; her grandmother, Elenor Rich of Pickens; brothers, Galbreath (Debbie) of Titusville, Jerry Clark of Liberty, Brian Galbreath of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Bruce Galbreath of Easley; and sisters, Debbie Fowler (Larry) of Liberty and Suzanne Smith (Wally) of Six Mile. Rhonda was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Faye Rathgeb.

Green of Travelers Rest, S.C., was born April 3, 1920 to James Fletcher Saylors and Iva Brown Saylors of Honea Path, S.C. and died January 6, 2010. Mrs. Green is survived by one son, Wylie S. Guest and his wife Praytor; two granddaughters, Savannah Praytor Guest and Charlotte Madison Guest, all of Greenville; Shirley Guest, wife of the late John C.

Guest, of Travelers Rest, S.C.; and stepson, Russell Green of Travelers Rest. She is also survived by her life long friend, Grace Revels, of Greenville, S.C.; and one nephew and three nieces. She was a member of San Souci Baptist Church. Sue Justus Haynes Greer A memorial service for Sue J. Haynes, 91, will be held Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. in the Covenant United Methodist Church Chapel at 1310 Old Spartanburg Road, Greer.

Born in Buncombe County, N.C. on October 29, 1918, Mrs. Haynes was the daughter of the late Claude and Maud Justus and the wife of the late Leland Fleet Haynes, who predeceased her in 1962. Survivors include her children: Steve Haynes and his wife Ana, Linda Lilla and her husband Paolo, and Robin Haynes and his wife Deborah; brothers: Ralph Justus and his wife Mary, and Claude Justus, Jr. and his wife Virginia; grandchildren: Alex Lilla and his wife Becky, Tina Lilla Gerbig and her husband Paul, Liane Laura Haynes, and Brian and Kenneth Haynes; and greatgrandchildren: Max and Ruthie Lilla.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Willard, Walter, and Carroll. Mrs. Haynes graduated from business school in Asheville, N.C. While in Asheville, she met her future husband, Leland Haynes, at her boarding house. Mr.

Haynes served in the army as a medic during World War II, and while he was away, Mrs. Haynes moved to Oak Ridge, with her sisters-in-law, to work with the Manhattan Project, and proudly talked about working in the payroll department using the comptometer. When Mr. Haynes returned, they moved to Simpsonville, S.C., where they started a family and Mr. Haynes opened a jewelry store and watchmaking business.

Mrs. Haynes began working as a data processing supervisor at Her Majesty Industries when the manufacturer moved to Mauldin, and continued until her retirement at 72. Mrs. Haynes was devoted to her family and was determined to provide the best education possible for her children. A widow in 1962, she worked long hours and sometimes two jobs in order to provide for her children and their education.

As a result, all three of her children graduated from the University of South Carolina. She always had a great sense of adventure and traveled the world to many exotic places visiting her children. A wonderful cook, Sue also loved to read and work crossword puzzles. But her greatest love was for her family and she was always there for them if and when they needed her. Sue was a loving and giving parent, grandparent, motherin-law, sister, and friend and will be missed by who loved everyone In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse at www.samaritanspurseO The Mackey Mortuary.

Chuck moved to Greenville in 1946 and worked nineteen years for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company as Glass Manager. He later became a project manager for PotterShackelford Construction Company, where he retired in 1989. He was a faithful volunteer to Meals on Wheels and other various charities as well. He was a member of Northgate Baptist Church since 1953 and a member of the Faith Sunday School Class.

In addition to his wife Norma, he is survived by his sons: Charles Michael Cornish (Robin) and David William Cornish (Marilyn); his Landers Janet Cor- his (Bob); grandchildren: Kendell Hunter Jerry), Amy Casey (Dave), Michael Cornish (Sara), Season Foster, Shelley Boone (Charlie), David Cornish, Katelyn and Drew Cornish; his 11 great Grayson, Thomas, Allie, Gracie, Grant, Gray, Luke, Cole, Christopher, Jonathan and Olivia. Also surviving are his brother, George Walter Cornish of Saugus, Mass; and four nephews. Chuck was one of the most giving, patient and loving men to all and especially and unconditionally, first and foremost to his adoring family. Memorial services will be held Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 3 o'clock at The Mackey Mortuary with Dr. Barry Jimmerson officiating.

Crooks Greenville Olivia Ledford Crooks, 76, wife of the late George Lewis Crooks, of 3221 New Easley Highway, Greenville, S.C., died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital. She had suffered with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, for 11 years, but is now with her Lord and Savior. A native of Anderson, S.C., Mrs. Crooks was the daughter of the late Homer Hilton and Amanda Singleton Ledford.

She had been employed by Keys Printing and was a member of Crosswell Baptist Susie M. Hobbs Greer Ms. Susie M. Hobbs, 66, of 128-A New Woodruff Road, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2010, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Gates, N.C., she was a daughter of Raleigh Boone and the late Ruth Riddick.

Surviving, in addition to her father, is her daughter, Tanya Anderson of Greenville; son, Sherman Hobbs of Greer; former husband, James A. Hobbs of Greer; sisters, Gloria Boone of Durham, N.C., Janice John) McIntyre of Hillborough, N.C., Hazel Hinton of Gates, N.C., Peggy (Jeff) Dupre, Ernestine Boone and Mamie Cardoza, all of Waterbury, stepsisters, Ulah Freeman and Beulah Warren, both of Newark, four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Service will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Watkins, Garrett Woods Mortuary. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Gates, N.C.

The family is at 111 Bakers Street Greenville. Genelle M. (Patsy) Hunt Travelers Rest Genelle M. (Patsy) Hunt of Travelers Rest, S.C., passed on Monday, January 4, 2010. at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 9, 1931 in Greenville, S.C.t to the late James and Lydia Morgan. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Travelers Rest. Survivors are three daughters, Patricia (Lewis) Dollinson of Columbia, S.C., Linda (Clarence) Bowser of Greer, S.C. and Rita Hunt of Travelers Rest, S.C.; and one sister, Emma Jo Morgan of Buffalo, N.Y.

Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, in the L.D. and E.S. Webb Memorial Chapel. Funeral service: 3 p.m.
